Jay represents injured workers in claims for Workers’ Compensation benefits before the Industrial Commission of Ohio and in Ohio’s county and appellate courts. Jay also represents individuals in claims for Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income benefits before the Social Security Administration and in federal court.
Born and raised in Lima, Ohio, Jay completed his undergraduate education at Ohio Northern University, graduating with a degree in journalism and criminal justice. While attending Ohio Northern, Jay worked for the school’s newspaper as a reporter, and later as the news editor and managing editor. Jay received his Juris Doctorate degree in 2012 from Capital University in Columbus, and while enrolled was a staff member of the Capital University Law Review. While in law school, Jay interned at a crime victim’s legal clinic, the federal public defender’s office, the United States Attorney’s office, and for United States district court judge Michael H. Watson.
Jay is currently serving as a Trustee for the Ohio Association for Justice and as the Workers’ Compensation Committee Chair for the Central Ohio Association for Justice. Jay previously served as the chair of the Social Security Disability Committee for the Columbus Bar Association. Jay has presented at continuing legal education seminars on the topic of Social Security Disability and federal court representation for the Ohio State Bar Association, the Columbus Bar Association, and National Business Institute.
In his spare time Jay enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, working in his yard, and rooting for the Buckeyes, Browns, and Indians.
